90. big exams long term study plan, do's and don'ts

Hi everybody
I have attended a seminar about planning for huge exams, I mean those serious exams that you have to study for them for a year or maybe even more!
Just to be clear, do not start studying without a clear long term plan.
you have to set periods for reviewing and summing up, for example, every weekend, instead of studying new courses, just review what you have read during the week.
at the end of each month/season review what you have learned and which parts you have forgotten.
do not forget about solving lots of examples especially if you are studying mathematical and engineering fields.
Good luck.
